Disgruntled Cricket Broadband Customer

Do not order the Cricket broadband modem. I will not recommend Cricket to anyone for cellphone or broadband. I called the Cricket 800 customer service # on two different occasions to verify that the Cricket wireless broadband would work at my home. After receiving the same answer from both service reps (yes, service was available in my area) I decided to purchase the modem on a Monday. First was told the modem would be delivered on Wednesday by Fed EX. Called Fed Ex on Friday morning to find out why I hadn't received delivery yet, and was told it would be delivered that day between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Anyway, I digress, that is another story.
I ended up having to drive 65 miles to pick up my modem, get it home, plug it into my computer and guess what, I get a message "activation failed". I called Cricket, spoke to a different service rep who had to put me on hold 3 times and finally came back to tell me that Cricket only offered cell phone service in my area, not broadband. I got a return authorization # but the credit will not be issued to me until 30 days after Cricket receives the returned modem yet they took the money out of my account the day after I ordered the modem. I should be able to fax them a copy of my shipping receipt and get the money put back into my account within a few days.
