Cell Phone Controls

Most providers require that the phone/account be provisioned with data services, and sometimes Web is provisioned separately from general data. This means that depending on your wireless provider, you could call them and ask that Web and/or data NOT be provisioned on the account. Some wireless companies actually require an extra fee or plan add-on to enable Web and/or data, so you should be able to configure (i.e. opt-in or out) for this as desired, even through your handset or My Account on their website.


In terms of controlling to whom someone using a particular phone can call or text, that gets a lot more difficult. In fact, most companies don?t provide any means to control these services whatsoever. Kajeet is one of the only ones that I know of that markets these types of controls. Their prepaid wireless service is specifically targeted as being a service for cell phones for kids, however, really, anyone can use it, and I can see how many people would find their controls quite useful.
